COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

CLASS SCHEDULE

At CBI, our mission is to teach the whole counsel of God’s Word. We accomplish this through three different teaching methods.

The first method is our weekly classes, where one of our local pastors teaches through a book of the Bible for the entire semester. These classes move chapter by chapter in two-hour sessions and take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

The second method is through block classes. Block classes consist of a guest teacher coming in to teach an entire book of the Bible in a total of nine hours—six hours on Thursday and three hours on Friday morning. This allows students to complete an entire book of the Bible in just two days.

The third method is our Bible Survey class, where students listen through specific Old Testament books of the Bible using Chuck Smith’s C2000 series.

Collectively, through these three teaching methods spanning the two semesters of our program, students are taught verse by verse through the entirety of God’s Word—from Genesis to Revelation.

HOMEWORK / ASSIGNMENTS

To ensure students are prepared for class, they are assigned to read and summarize every chapter of the Bible before it is taught. This gives instructors confidence that students have not only read the material, but have also become familiar with the portion of Scripture being taught. In addition, this preparation provides students with the opportunity to raise any questions they may have regarding specific passages, encouraging deeper understanding and meaningful discussion in the classroom.

SERVANTHOOD

At CBI, our goal is not only to equip you with the Word of God, but also to provide hands-on experience in serving Christ. As part of our program, all students will participate in servanthood opportunities, including cleaning, maintenance, grounds keeping, meal preparation, event setup, and event teardown—whether at our CBI campus or at one of our church locations.

Through these practical acts of service, students will develop humility, faithfulness, and a heart to serve others as Christ served us.

PRACTICAL MINISTRY

Another important part of our mission to raise up the next generation of leaders is practical ministry. As a student at CBI Sunshine Coast, you will have the opportunity to actively serve in ministry in a variety of ways. These opportunities may include childcare, worship, greeting, tech team, ushering, coffee bar, Sunday school, youth group, and more.

Our desire is for every student to gain real ministry experience, discover their gifts, and grow in confidence as they serve the local church and community.
